So youth is a medium? What about middle age and old age? Wasn't 2016 the revenge of the fogeys (and the revelation that age does not bestow wisdom)?

Deletebut i quote it (and most of these quotes actually) not for its truth value but has a nice bit of prose with a rhythm to it.
still think it's true that the youngers are more attuned to the coming thing, e.g. with TikTok or whatever
